This is a satirical news aggregator, not an independent newsroom. We pass along attributed reports and link readers to the outlet responsible for them.
What triggers a YES
A listed outlet must explicitly report that a billionaire died. The public answer uses the outlet’s report date in America/New_York rather than guessing a private time of death.
What does not
Relatives, estates, anniversaries, investigations, rumors, unsupported “tycoon” language, and ambiguous headlines stay unpublished. A social post—including one on X/Twitter—can point toward a story, but never triggers a YES by itself.
The launch source desk
Automatic publication is limited to: ABC News, AP/Associated Press, BBC, Bloomberg, CBC, CBS News, CNBC, CNN, Deutsche Welle, Financial Times, Forbes, Fortune, France 24, The Globe and Mail, The Guardian, NBC News, The New York Times, Nikkei Asia, Reuters, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, Al Jazeera, and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. Common feed aliases are normalized before matching.
The billion-dollar line
The linked report must explicitly describe the subject as a billionaire. Historical ledger entries may also cite a separate wealth source. Company valuation, managed assets, and lifetime revenue do not count as personal net worth.
The Almost desk
“Almost” is reserved for serious, publicly reported brushes with mortality involving someone near or above the billion-dollar line. It excludes diagnoses, medical gossip, rumors, predictions, and manufactured peril.
Corrections
If a source retracts or materially changes a report, we will correct or remove the affected entry. Include the page, headline, and a reliable source showing the problem.
